RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Based on seeing high end RV's with drain holes in their awnings, I put a 1/2" brass grommet in the center of my "new correct length" awning approximately 3" in from the roller seam. Finally had the chance, (by accident), to give it a good test to see if it would prevent pooling of water in the open awning. Went out for the day and left awning open. While out, a heavy downpour came through. Awning was fine and no pooling at all.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Took lightning hit thru plug in oxford,Ms week ago. Took out plug, coffee pot, back tv,microwave(still checking),poped fuse on fridge(Found and fixed)I now have no charging system for my batteries. Is my converter in the fuse panel under the sink? Is there a fuse somewhere I can check?Charging batteries with plugin charger for now. also my generator is still putting out voltage but not converting to 12 volts hope it is same fuse or problem. In Jackson, Ms. on a job right now. Thanks GREG Email hgcjlewis@gmail.com
Converter is located under the washer/dryer. You can see it if you take out the grill at floor level unjder the hutch in galley area, (under fold-up table in center). The converter is very difficult to get to and probably requires removing washer/dryer and lifting w/d floor. Can also get to part of the converter by removing the propane detector, although this may be difficult. My detector was "cemented" in with foam insulation. I was checking my propane detector, not converter so I can't tell you any more.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

If you've already found the switch in the bathroom cabinet above the washer/dryer, then the other switch is at the top of the pantry cabinet to the left of the sink under the counter. There are 2 switches there. One has a flame on it and the other has a lightning bolt, the 110v supply.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Got back from my service appointment for the rear springs. According to Workhorse service shop at Cummins Atlantic in Greensboro, NC there is nothing obviously wrong with my suspension. Leaf springs are just contacting the yellow accordion bumpers and I still get a good ride. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it. If anyone gets additional info I'd like to hear.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

After reading about the springs and bumpers I crawled under my PA 37C and found the rear leaf springs sitting on the bumpers. I haven;t experienced a hard ride yet, but I called Workhorse and they confirmed that there should be a 1 1/2 to 2" gap. I've scheduled service at a Workhorse facility for April 8. Will let you know the outcome.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Had the short 815 awning fabric replaced with the 845 fabric. Awning now opens fully with arms straight. Still have problems with rain puddling in center of awning. At the Tampa RV show I noticed that all the high end RV's (Prevost, Newell, etc) have awnings that come out almost flat and they all have a couple of brass grommeted holes to allow for drainage. I decided to try it myself. Made hole in awning at low point and installed a brass grommet. Looks like it should prevent the swimming pool effect. Haven't had a good rain storm to check it out yet. Will report back when I do.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

The connector I'm referring to for the wipers is a black plastic block at the end of an approximately 6" pigtail from the motor. It's located above the motor and must be reached using 2 hands, one up from each side of the motor. There are 4 brass spades in the male end. I'm assuming that most all 37C PA's have a similar installation. Hope this helps.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Had an interesting experience. Twice now I've used my windshield wipers during a heavy rain and they wouldn't turn off afterwards. Had to disconnect the power under the frony cowling. The first time when I got home I reconnected the power the wipers were OK. This time I figured maybe water was getting into the connector. When I looked into the male end of the connector block I could see some greenish corrosion of the brass connection blades. I scraped it out and wiped out the area with alcohol on a Q-tip. Seems to have fixed the problem. If anyone has a similar problem, the connector is up under the down slope for the dash, just above the wiper drive motor. It is accessed from the ouside with the "hood" up.

Spoke too soon on the ECC fix using contact cleaner. Worked fine for a couple of days, but now back to problems and noise in bathroom.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Contributor wa0mge recently responded to my query about a noisy ECM module under my bathroom sink.
Your response got me thinking. My A/C units also seemed to do a lot of loading/shedding. I turned the ECC off for front and back, then sprayed contact cleaner into the temperature setpoint slots and worked the setpoint slides up and down a bunch of times. Furnaces and A/C units now work perfectly, and no more noise from the ECM module. Hope you saved your old module for a spare, seems to be just a minor corrosion problem.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

I know that Fleetwood doesn't always put the converter in the same spot twice, mine was under the curio cabinet in the wall beween the bathroom and the kitchen, might this be the noise?
No, this is a small black plastic control module and the noisy culprit is a white relay inside the module.

No noise when we use both furnaces or at anytime under the bathroom cabinet. You are talking about removing the electric panel in the bathroom cabinet and the modules behind it?
Yes, under "floor" of the cabinet under sink.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Reply for "wa0mqe" :All 4 of the awnings I bought were "Sunbrella" fabric to match my main awning. I got them with the black metal uni-shield and all of the fittings and arms were black. I used a 3' SL over the bedroom window, a 5' SL for the couch window, a 5' XL SL for the dinette window, and a 6' XL SL for the double hallway window. If you go with C OF C make sure you get all the hardware fittings specified in the installation instructions. Especially the "moly-rivets". These give a wide backing when you can't hit structure, which is most of the time.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

A question for PA 37C 30 amp owners. nder the bathroom cabinet floor there is a blck plastic control module located on the shower side. When both furnaces are on this module makes a clicking noise which quits once the rear(?) furnace comes on. This noise was quite loud so I had the dealership replace the module. It still did it. I contacted Fleetwood and they said that was the way it is. I have sound isolated the module and it can only be heard now when actually in the bathroom.
Have other 30 amp coach owners had the same noise and has anyone been able to eliminate it all together?

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

The performance improvement with the Banks was great. Much better torque and power. I blow by most of the truckers and big diesel rigs on long hills. Maybe a small increase in mileage, but not enough to be sure. No noticeable noise increase, but I also added sound proofing mats under the floor in the cab area. Got these from Summit racing. Bought two mats rated for high-temp, under hood of racing cars. Kind of patched them in over engine and under floor on driver and passenger sides. These made a big difference in noise levels. A lot easier to listen to radio now. Banks was worth the $3700 installed at Camping World. Also had Bilstein gas shocks put on there. Rig handles MUCH better now. No more porpoising and stays more level in turns.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

My plug wires weren't giving me problems, but when I had the Banks Power-Pak installed the mechanic couldn't get the wires off without destroying them. When I went to the Workhorse/Chevy dealer to get a replacement set the techs in the parts area said they have to replace them all the time and recommended getting Hi-temp after market wires. I went eith the Taylor wires from Summit Racing. When I first installed them I had a minor problem. I used the dielectric grease they supply and must have gotten some extra on the inside of the plug wire boots. When I took the rig out for a test it ran great, but then got rougher and rougher. When I crawled under again, I found that four of the plug wires had blown off of the plug tips. Apparently the insulating "socks" on the wires acted as sails. I cleaned the inside of the boots with laquer thinner and reinstalled. No more problems.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

Flcampa asked about steering. I bought my 37C used from Lazy Days in Florida. I was not satisfied with the steering because it required a constant pressure om the wheel to hold the coach straight. The coach was equipped with "Safe-T Steer". They aligned the front end and adjusted the S-T-S and it handles great.

I went with separate awnings, total of 4. Can't comment on A&E because I used C of C. I'm presently away from home, but can supply exact info in acouple of days.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

I recently installed awnings on the 4 windows on the driver's side of my 37C. The awnings were from Carefree of Colorado. Worked out well and cuts down on heat from those windows in sun, but had a lot of questions when ordering and installing them. Downloaded installation instructions from C of C site which was very helpful. If anyone wants to install same, a word of advise: instructions say to install mounting strip at least 3 1/8" above window. Not necessary and not possible on 3 of the windows. I installed strip just above rubber gasket on all 4 windows. Worked great.
